HTF ROYAL HAEGER PEDESTAL Punch BOWL Bl w Flame Glaze Start Price USD 49.99 Current Price USD 49.99 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, September 05, 2008 End Time Friday, September 12, 2008 Location Chicago, Illinois See more about 'HTF ROYAL HAEGER PEDESTAL Punch BOWL Bl w Flame Glaze' Description redgleen2 Store huge ROYAL HAEGER PEDESTAL Punch BOWL Bl w Flame Glaze This is a huge mid-century, circa 1962-65, American art pottery, Royal Haeger, pedestal bowl; I have to think it is a punch bowl (1 viewer suggests possibly a fruit compote) at this size & since it has 4 protruding ring handles along the edge.   Maybe it has a different function, pls. share if you are familiar with this piece (see viewer comment in Q & A below) .    Finish is Black Mystique, a matte black with rich glossy flame glaze on the inside & outer edge of the bowl.   Flame glaze colors are predominantly an intense orange & red with some yellow & on the outside there is also some blue in the mix.    The surface has a unique impressed pattern, not unlike a straight tire thread.    Bottom is marked ROYAL HAEGER  USA 27-H along with a copyright mark.    It stands just over 7" tall, the bowl diameter at the top edge is 12-1/4",  from ring edge to ring edge it is 15" across.   It's an impressive piece of Royal Haeger pottery.   There are 2 old chips along the outside rim, I have shown the worst one- they are actually black & honestly I cannot tell for certain whether it is a touch up or if these occured in the making & were glazed over.   There are 2 spots on the inside rim directly across from the chip shown; likewise they are black and more felt than seen-one actually looks like a tong mark-again possibly occurring during the making-I'm not an expert & just not sure.  I found no other chips, no cracks or repairs.    OFFERED WITH NO RESERVE.  View my feedback and bid with confidence.   PLEASE WAIT FOR THE EBAY INVOICE I SEND YOU BEFORE PAYING !!
