Description
Hello, Folks Here I am offering a one of a kind piece by Long John Reilly, of E.T.Hurley painting a landscape on the banks of Olive Branch. This is where he got his subject matter for his beautilful plaques and vases, of birch tree scene's. John Reilly was a first baseman for Cincinnati Red Legs, he was on the top ten homerun list in major leagues from 1888-1892. he and E.T. were great freinds. John had  artistic talent, but obviously had a drive for baseball, which took most of his time. He has captured E.T. in a place he loved and doing what he loved the most, creating wonderful works of art. This is a exeptional piece of history, and art. It is signed and dated, with a caption at top from artist, that reads : E.T.HURLEY. painting at Olive Branch June 9, 1918. Also includes an E.T.Hurley etching of L.J.Riley sitting in chair of banks of Olive Branch sketching This is a unique combo of works of the two artist's by the two artist's IMAGE SIZE   11.25"  X 9" In the painting you will see his  art box, a painting laying behind him, his jacket hanging on the branch, and a make shift shade canopy, protecting him from the summer sun. This is truly a wonderful piece, in excellent condition, that has stood the test of time.
