Vintage Nemadji Clay Indian Pot Please scroll down to see more pictures. This auction is for a Namadji Clay Pot. It was made by Nemadji Tile & Pottery Company of Minnesota. These pots were made as tourist souvenir pottery and referred to as 'Indian Pottery' by the company and sold in the west and the east. They were made during the Great Depression. They were made by using rich clays from the bank of the Namadji River and a special painting technique gives the pottery its unique look. This method was developed in 1929 by Eric Hellman. This pottery is no longer made. Please check out all of the other pieces that we have up for auction.We are always happy to combine shipping to save. Condition: Excellent free of chips, cracks or any dings. There are some rubbings to the tan surface showing clay through. Marks: Namadji Pottery with an Indian Head Color: off white with drizzles of green & blue giving it a marble affect.
