rebecca7 Store Payment | Shipping Taylor Smith TST TS&T Large 1941 Empire Jug Pink Floral Click to view supersized image This is a lovely large Water Jug or Milk Pitcher made by the Taylor, Smith, and Taylor company of Chester, West Virginia. in their Footed Empire or Lu-Ray shape and hand-decorated with a stylized pink flower with green leaves. It is marked in green "Taylor Smith Taylor USA" inside a laurel wreath with the numbers 5-41-2 below. This means the piece was made in 1941. The Empire shape was made from 1938 to the late 1950s. The handpainted flowers are very similar to and compatible with Blue Ridge and Stetson Pottery's pink floral designs. This pitcher is 8" tall and 9" from spout to handle. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or scratches. It has one barely visible 1/8" stress line under the tip of the spout along the seam, made during manufacturing, but one has to search to find it. It is not a crack and the piece is structurally sound. Under the base, out of sight, is one small glaze pop which has darkened slightly. Otherwise, the piece is very clean and unstained, and it appears unused. As the photos show, this is a wonderful, cheerful jug for use or display! Please view my other beautiful items currently up for auction. (click "View Seller's Other Items" above...)
