This listing is for an attention-getting, vintage teapot that would be a plum in your teapot collection or would be a star in any retro/eclectic decor.  From the Japanese company, Takito, it is fashioned in a bright and yet tasteful Art Deco style. The image on the front consists of yellow and orange flowers with blue and black leaves along with a similarly colored bird - a bird of paradise, maybe? A close-up of the bold orange stripes with black outlining. The handle. The design on the other side is more spare. A look at the Deco lid and the inside of the teapot. This teapot is marked on the bottom with the double T's inside two rectangles sitting on end.  The stamp also says, "Hand Paint Made in Japan".  This is the mark of the Takito Company, and the piece probably dates to the 1920's or 1930's. SIZE   7 inches tall.  9 1/2 inches from the handle to the spout.CONDITION   Very good vintage condition.  No cracks, chips or crazing.  This was grimy when we got it, and we have cleaned it up pretty well.  There are still a few spots on the surface and in some crevices.  More cleaning, especially of the inside of the spout, would be good if you are going to serve tea from it.  Very good display quality.
