This is a large and heavy bowl at about 10" in diameter (somewhat larger than the Steuben Trillium bowl) and 5.5" tall.  It weighs just under 5lbs.  To give an idea of it's volume, it holds over 1/2 gallon of liquid.  The Tricorn Bowl has three applied oval bits of glass like lenses at the tri-corners of the base. Although a vintage bowl, this is in scratch free unused condition and a rare find.  Of course, no chips, nicks, stains and no scratches on the base bottom. A very fair starting bid for a Steuben bowl in superb condition, with no hidden reserve, (this is larger than the Steuben Trillium Bowl which retails for $950 before taxes at Steuben.com) Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. It is the worlds foremost artisan glass house. Steuben glass continues to be hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY.  Because it is hand made, each piece is unique.  Steuben glass is frequently the United States’ gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Steuben markets no “seconds”. Items that do not meet their exacting production standards are destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben is a luxury brand and they have no "sales".
