As this piece would be able to carry itself in either place with great pride . An Elegant Victorian era vase in color of a Blue Opal cystal glass with A bouquet of foliage along with wonderful a gorgeous butterfly all created with the thick impasto enamel style this piece appears to have a high lead content as it sings like a bell ! This piece is believed to be produced between c1780 -1820. This amazing vase has been hand blown and turned. The hand applied enamel is in the relief style. This is signed on the bottom. Very good condition no chips or cracks or damage in the opal glass. Today we are presenting an Amazing & truly lovely piece of glass created by the French Glass Factories . This rare & very substantial piece with an extremely well enameled artwork all displayed on a flat pedestal pillowed base & very short stem support the large flaring Cylinder body consisting of straight sides and circular ends of equal size opening in a flaring mouth. While finding this piece signed by the artist & numbered is fairly uncommon the real rarity of this item vessel or vase is in the fact that the enameling is displaying a new form of color the combination of browns and cream have come together to display what would be considered a very soft lavender this is being accentuated by the foliage which includes as a part of the bouquet the lavender bloom. Now when you consider the amazing design in combination with the talent of the artist and lets say we over look the age and the fact that it is cystal it all contributes to the extreme rarity of this item. This piece measures a amazing 10 ¾“” tall by 4 ¾” wide when measuring we have measured from side to side the same measurements are used for the measuring of the mouth opening which is 4” wide. The color of the vessel would be considered Opal blue . The bottom is marked with what appears to be a 1 or  a I .  The Panel colors are considered extremely mute shades creating a striking blue in the glass to stand out . There are raised dots of enamel which are white . There are also raised dots of enameling along and within the main panel . The owner has stated that the vessel has been stored in side of a glass cabinet used only for display and protected from sunlight . This astounding piece of art is believed to be in a extremely unusual condition as there does not appear to the human eye to have so much as a scratch on the enameled panel that I have been able to determine , the only sign of age which could be noted is along the bottom , we have also shown in the photo’s there is a one bead missing we do not believe it was ever there as the enamel is in place . I see no break of any kind .I have found one rough spot on the the lower side not a break maybe a scratch . This piece rings like a bell there are no cracks or chips to the glass . In my research of this vase or vessel I am unable to attribute it to an exact artist with assuredly . Please if you are in need of more information feel free to contact me. .
