I'm not sure about this, but I think the 'glazing' has been altered. If you run your hand across the base of the jar is doesn't have the "smooth" feeling. I don't have an explanation as to why but when I aquired this piece it was already in the "rough" condition. The "rough" feeling isn't over the entire cookie jar. It is on: -part of his left arm -underneath his green colth (on the top of his belly fading down back into the "smooth" feeling) -back side of his left leg Also, I have included a picture of one of the spots. It's the most noticeable spot, but yet, I wanted to make the buyer aware of it. There are no cracks, or crazing. Sorry, there are no returns.
