Factory First Quality with the traditional Royal Copenhagen Markings on the Bottom. Great Gift or part of Your Collection. Blue Fluted is Royal Copenhagen number one service - in more ways than one. It was the first service to be made at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory when it first started in 1175; today, each piece bears the number "1" next to the painters initials and the three wavy lines of Royal Copenhagen logo. The pattern was originally an ancient Chinese porcelain decoration, but soon after his appointment as artistic director (1885-1916), professor Arnold Krog created a new Blue Fluted service in which shape and decoration found new unity. Blue Fluted has been manufactured continuously for more than two centuries and remains the factory's most sought after service. Today, Blue Fluted is still painted freehand and is available in four versions: Blue Fluted Full-Lace with its wide lace borders and exquisite decorative pieces, Blue Fluted Half-lace, Blue Fluted Plain and Blue Fluted MEGA.
