Monroe of Meriden, Conn. This is the #291 glove box ca.1902, complete with the original key for the lock. The box measures 9 1/2 inches long by 4 1/4 inches wide and stands 5 1/2 inches tall. The piece has a wonderful decoration and is not worn or faded. The liner on the interior of the box is the original and is frayed on the edge but is still complete and also is not faded or stained. The box has one ormolu foot that was repaired at some point in the past - see photos. The glass is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. The lock has the original key and is in perfect working condition. The box is signed on the bottom with a black inkstamp Wave Crest mark.
