Description
Please have a look at my Me page next to my username to find more high end porcelain on my own site!! For auction is a very early cup made by Meissen in about 1730. It is handpainted with a chinoiserie scene and has the modelled arcarnus leaves highlighted with gold on the bottom part. This is just a superb piece and almost as early as it comes for Meissen. The cup is in good condition with a restored chip to the rim and a bit of the top rim gold has been redone. The rest is all original and in superb shape. The interesting thing is the provenance on this piece. It comes from the palace of Versailles and was restored by the restorer of the Louvre museum in France and was bought by a lady who I got it from. The cup is unmarked but obviously Meissen. Not sure of the painter but it is not Hoeroldt that much I can tell. It is probably either J.P Dannhöffer or Chr. D. Busch in Bayreuth. Probably one of his understudies. The cup is 3.125 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter at the top. It has a simple handle only which point to an early date as well since Kaendler said when he arrived that he needed to make some decent handles :) A very nice piece that would make a great addition to any collection. Porzellan Porcelaine Paypal for international bidders only unless otherwise discussed. I will send a separate invoice via Paypal if needed. Shipping is 15 Dollars including insurance (Continental US). My shipping costs are all entered into Ebay and they are flat fees. I won't change them and if you don't like them - don't bid. Fairly simple really. Sometimes I gain most times I loose on them. I combine shipping as much as I can do safely. I ship airmail only and it should be pretty fast but sometimes it takes up to ten weeks and I have no control over that. Usually it is stuck in customs. I would like an email from the winning bidder within three days if at all possible! I ship internationally and like money orders and personal checks the best. It takes a bit longer but is a lot less costly to me. I pack very safely so no worries there! I can accept Paypal if need be as well. E-mail me with any questions or concerns. I also understand that more pictures might be helpful so just ask. I will write back for sure (but don't wait till last minute). Money back guarantee for valid reasons but items are not new and in some cases 200 years plus old so keep that in mind. I also have for auction some Meissen pieces , KPM , Nymphenburg , Sevres , Vienna , Dresden , and some English pieces like Worcester and Staffordshire , etc. Something for everyone - just have a peek at the other auctions. Thanks for taking the time to look at my stuff! Hope you enjoyed the show :)
