Please contact us to get photos by e-mail. --> RörstrandOlle AlberiusSarek Vase Being offered on this auction is cylindrical stoneware vase made by Rörstrand of Sweden. Famous artist Olle Alberius designed this high quality modernist art pottery piece. He worked for Rörstrand from 1963 until 1971 as Artistic Director. This vase is in décor ‘Sarek’ (Sarek is a mountain region in Sweden, National Park now; please do not confuse it with Star Trek personage). Vase has a textured surface with dark brown hand-painted glaze. It is decorated with various geometrical circle patterns under glaze. It is signed with standard Rörstrand triple crown mark on backside and has artist initials OA. Vase measures approximately 3” in diameter and stands 6 ¼” tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks, chips or crazing found. Please take a look at our pictures to find out more about this vase. We have a large collection of European vases, which we recently acquired from local estate in Greenwich, CT. These are mostly production of Rosenthal and Hutschenreuther art departments. There are also other German vases as well as Scandinavian pottery. For many of items from this collection we were able to identify the name of artist or designer. Not for all vases, however.
