Description
IMPORTANT NOTE, PLEASE READ: The shipping cost quoted on this listing is an ESTIMATE ONLY. PLEASE DON'T PAY until you receive my eBay invoice! I don't pack my sets until they're sold so I can't give you the exact postage cost until I see how many boxes it takes to ship the set safely, the weight of each box and where you live. I don't charge anything for packing, handling or materials! You will pay EXACTLY what the Post Office charges me. HI! Today I'm listing a Very Rare, Limited Production 74-Piece Set of Noritake "VICEROY" Pattern Fine China. This is a rare shape that has a beautiful overlapping vine pattern molded in relief into the border area of the china itself. According to my book on Noritake marks this shape was made in 1933 only.Note: Noritake also made another pattern named Viceroy. This was their #7222 pattern which was an ivory color and had wide gold trim around the edge followed by a thin gold ring. This pattern was made from 1975-1986 and is quite common and readily available.Condition: The vast majority of this set is like-new, but a few pieces have very light use.Description: The china is a high-gloss white with gold trimmed scalloped edges. As you can see by my close-up photo, the pattern has five equally spaced groups of white, pink, orange, blue and yellow flowers mixed with green foliage. A single band of flowers composed of the same colors divide the groups and circle the pieces on the verge line. Next there is an almond/cream colored area that extends from the verge line in about 1 1/4" and terminates at a decorative band of yellow scrolls that alternate with small red buds. The center area of the pieces are white. This is the only blank/shape of Noritake china that I could find in my books that feature the beautiful embossed overlapping vines that are molded into the white-ware blanks and extend all around the border area of the pieces. According to the mark on the back of the pieces, the Viceroy pattern and this unique blank/shape were only made in 1933. Here is a list of the pieces included along with specific conditions:Five Cups (2 1/8" tall) like-new - the others had cracks and were discardedTwelve saucers (lightly used)Eleven 10" Dinner Plates (lightly used, some have a small wear spot from stacking).Twelve 7 5/8" Salad Plates (lightly used)Eight 5 1/2" Fruit/Sauce Bowls (light use to like-new)Nine 6 3/8" Bread & Butter Plates (mostly unused)Nine 7 5/8" Soup Bowls (very light use)One 10" Oval vegetable bowl (handled) like-newOne 9" Oval Relish Dish (like-new)One 9" Footed, Covered Casserole (unique gold decorated handles) like-newOne Gravy Boat W/Attached Under-plate (like-new)One Cover for Sugar Bowl (no bowl)One Creamer (like-new)One 11 3/4" long x 8 3/4" wide Oval Serving Platter (like-new)One 16 1/4" long x 12" wide Oval serving Platter (like-new)This is a very rare and unique set of Noritake Fine China and it includes many hard-to-find serving pieces, If you have a partial set of this pattern and have been searching for pieces to complete it, don't pass this wonderful set up - in all likelihood, you won't ever set this many pieces again in your lifetime (especially in this condition)!
