Description
A fabulous art deco tea trio comprising cup, saucer, and teaplate by Paragon, England, hand enamelled and dating from the 1930's. The pattern comprises green coloured asters or michaelmas daisy type flowers with art deco moulded flashes attractively picked out in gold to the top and bottom of the cup handle and in green to the four corners of the saucer and plate, plus gilt edging to all three pieces. The cup stands two and a half inches in height with a top width (excluding handle) of three and a half inches; the plate width is six inches, and the saucer width is five and a quarter inches. All three pieces carry the Royal Paragon By Appointment, backstamp of the period; there is a painted pattern number F2072 on the saucer, and Registered No. 780094 on the saucer and plate. Condition is excellent with the gilt detail and rim edging properly intact and all pieces bright and clean; all three pieces ring clearly, indicating no hidden or other hairlines and there are no chips, cracks, or scratches, nor any fading, crazing, rubbing or discolouration, and no restoration. We have an extremely reasonable start price and there is no reserve. From UK buyers we accept payment in pounds sterling only, by personal cheque, postal order or Paypal. From non-UK buyers we accept and prefer payment through Paypal in UK pounds sterling, but can also accept a personal check (subject to clearance) in pounds sterling (or, at buyer's request, in USA dollars for which we'll convert at the exchange rate prevailing at close of the auction). Buyers are re-assured that we are experienced packers with a proudly maintained reputation, well conversant with the requirements of sending out delicate items worldwide to enable safe arrival under normal conditions. All postage costs are the responsibility of the buyer as are (in international transactions) all import duties or charges.
