Mr. Norris lived across the road from the famous Bethune Pottery as a child and met many of the lengendary potters. Later he owned the Bethune Pottery and has since sold it, building a new kiln just a few miles down the road. Located in between the three areas, Seagrove, Catawba and Edgefield, Kershaw County Pottery is often a blend of the three styles. Itinerant potters of years ago traveled between the areas bringing the styles and traditions together. Otis Norris has continued this tradition and added to it his own unique style. Norris is a Master Folk Potter and has been around pots, clay, and potters all his life. Norris is the most widely collected of the SC Folk Potters. Thank you!
