This piece is one of the largest vases produced by Moorcroft in recent years and is in perfect condition without crazing. This beautiful vase has been in my possession since it was produced. As you can see from the photographs, the detail is fabulous and is of exceptional beauty and complexity. It was produced in very small numbers. It is both signed by the artist and dated 3/29/2002 which is when it was fired. We have been told that there were less than 50 of these produced. William Moorcroft introduced a series of sumptuous and large flamb� pieces to the staid world of post-war ceramics at the great Wembley exhibition in 1924. Varying in height from a modest 12 inches to a mighty 27 inches, the Wembley pieces added a new dimension to the word 'statement' in ceramic art. These rare pieces reflect the very best work of each designer.
