Incredible detail, outstanding craftmanship and beautiful colors are all incorporated in this amazing piece. My camera does not do this justice and it can't capture the gold veil, pictures are always of actual piece. This paperweight is 3 1/2" tall, 4 1/2" wide, and weighs 3 lbs., 12 oz. Mayauel Ward attended El Camino College where he learned glassblowing from Stuart Abelman, his later to be boss and brother-in-law. He worked for Correia Art Glass before starting with Abelman Art Glass in 1979. Although he is still with Ableman Art Glass he started his own business in 1988 making lampwork paperweights at home. Recently, Mayauel has added floral vases, floral perfume bottles, and torchwork paperweights to his line.
