Description
Lot of 6 ceramic dolls, Made in Japan, possibly late 1920's or early 1930's (see the "flapper style" hat on the largest, most colorful doll). Smallest doll measures 3 1/2", has a made up face; the body is a flesh/pink color and she has arms that move attached by a thin wire strung through the torso. Next 3 dolls measure 3 3/8", 3 3/8" and 3 1/8" respectively. The colors have faded to a white matte finish of the ceramic material used. These children look like they are holding books and do have some color in the eyes and other small areas. The next doll is 3 1/4" tall, with moving arms strung through the torso by string. The string is loose so, one of the arms tends to dangle a bit. Only the eyes and lips retain a bit of color and the rest is a grey tone. The final doll is the largest at 3 3/4" and the most colorful with a semi-shiny gloss. All figurines have "Made in Japan" stamped on their backs. There are small chips around the shoe areas and one chip on the the yellow "flapper" hat near where the left ear would be. These dolls are in nice condition considering their age and, they all stand on their own two feet! Please feel free to e-mail any questions you may have. We will be listing more items every few days so, don't forget to look and think of the coming Holidays. NOTE: Handling fee is included in the shipping fee as shown in the listing.
