The platter has an empressed mark that is very hard to read, but we found the fuchsia pattern in the book 'White Ironstone China Plate Identification Guide 1840-1890' by Dieringer. This guide attributes this particular fuchsia pattern to J. G. Meakin, with the date 1860's. The platter measures 16 1/4" by 12". The platter is in Excellent condition, no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. There are some use marks which would be expected for this antique platter.The platter weighs slightly over 4 1/2 pounds.
