Description
alley-antiques Store SHIPPING CHARGE INCLUDES INSURANCE. Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Our opening bid is our reserve. Staffordshire Transferware. Beautiful and quite scarce early blue transfer pedestal fruit bowl, or small punch or syllabub bowl. Unmarked. This dates back to the 1830s at circa 1835. The pattern is called "The Cottage Girl". Maker unknown. The central view is of a lady with a hoop, 2 buckets and a dog by her feet, and 2 swans and a home in the background. Floral border. The piece displays excellently. There are 4 tight hairlines on the edge (one doesn't go through). Two are pictured in pic #6. One is pictured in pic #7. These are hard to notice except on close inspection because of the busy pattern. Typical crazing. Light toning in areas. There are no other chips, cracks, or repairs. The bowl displays beautifully and is a scarce form and pattern. Measures about 10" in diameter and about 5 1/2" tall. BID WITH CONFIDENCE .
