The "No. 83 Candy Jar & Cover"was produced in a variety of finishes during the 1920's. This striking Art Deco inspired design has strong classically inspired lines. The clear glass has a rich iridescent finish, Lancaster's "Iris Ice", which shows nice texture over the lid and flows down over the bowl. The interior lid surface is decorated with hand painted floral enamels with rich color and stylized detail. The jar measures 9" high and 5 ½" in diameter. Both the lid and base are in excellent condition with no damage or surface wear (other than some trace wear on the bottom foot ring this piece looks like new.) This elegant hand painted covered candy would make a nice addition to any collection of 1920's Lancaster Glass or Deco period Stretch art glass.
