It dates from the late 1920s or very early 1930s—the era when Wilhelm Kåge was designing most of the Argenta items at Gustavsberg himself.The bowl has a pair of flat, scalloped and grooved handles and alternating vertical bands of Sterling silver applied to the surface of Argenta's prototypical, mottled deep green stoneware. This particular bowl has a slightly more contrastingly mottled surface than the more usual Argenta.The weakness of Argenta Ware has always been the eventual wear to the applied silver decor, especially for display pieces that have needed frequent polishing.
