Description
KPM Royal Berlin was founded in 1763 by Fredrik the Great of Prussia. All KPM products are made by hand according to tradition. This set is pure white with most pieces having an unglazed medallion. The set includes everything produced in the Arcadia pattern, plus serving pieces: coffee pot, tea pot, gravy boat, sugar pot with lid, creamer, one small and one large oval platters and one round platter. As a rather interesting aside, I was told by Geary’s in Beverly Hills that this pattern was originally designed by KPM for Herr Hitler (or at least that is what I was told). Two of the pieces have been in Los Angeles for minor restoration by Dinka. Dinka is renowned porcelain master restorer in the greater Los Angeles area. In all, three pieces have been restored. Retail price in 1992 was at $4,426.00. Upon purchase the two pieces in Los Angeles would be delivered to the buyer at no further cost. The KPM dinnerware would be shipped out of Laredo Texas and not Mexico. I just recently sold a set a Lynn Chase dinnerware to a lady in Oregon. The cost of shipping from Laredo to Oregon was ¾ less than shipping from Mexico, for the dinnerware. This is my best offer.
