I assume it was broken off at some point and maybe gound smooth as it doesn't have rough spots on the rim. the printing on it says ' Lily White pure Rye , S b & co. The bottle or jug was made by the Knowles Taylor & Knowles co , I believe in the 1920's It has an interesting snake handle, and I see a dark line on the top of the area where the handle connects to the bottle. I don't think it's been broken and reglued, but it does look like the handle was applied, not molded, so i'm not sure about the status of that. neat item in spite of the flaws~about 6" to the handle .
