John (known as Pop) was a craftsman of handmade glass and he passed his craft along to his sons. Eventually, Pop and his sons began the St. Clair Glass Works in Elwood, Indiana. Down through the years, the St. Clair family, working together and separately, have become renowned for creating unusual handmade pieces, collector items and pressed glass, which are in great demand and continues to increase in value. Joe Rice reopened The House of Glass in Elwood, Indiana, and is carrying on the tradition of creating fine art glass. This pretty marble in swirls of red, white and blue is no exception to that wonderful St. Clair artistry. The marble is approx. 3 1/8" in circumference and comes with a black, plastic stand. My husband and I were dealers of Joe Rice glass and this marble is part of the inventory we had on hand when we closed our business in 2007. The marble is, therefore, new and in mint condition.
