We have some fantastic offerings at auction this week, please be sure to check all of our items.   We have just obtained some wonderful new Experimental and Prototype pieces, as well as a couple of really spectacular 'seconds' at incredible pricing.   Please check back to see what else we will be listing in the coming weeks! Please send us an ebay message if there is something specific you are seeking, and we will attempt to acquire it for you.  The piece at auction you are currently viewing is: Large Aquarium Sea Fan --- please read the description carefully to understand the small hidden flaw that makes this otherwise magnificent piece a 'second' Artist: James NowakSigned: "Sea Fan '07'  see descriptionApprox Size: 27" Long x 14" tall x 15" deep Shipping: Western US 120.00, Eastern US 135.00 Insurance IncludedNo chips, cracks or structural problems. This incredible Sea Fan has a small flaw on the lower interior of the piece, and because of that, this work is a second.  The flaw is invisible from most angles of viewing and all but invisible on direct inspection -- where there is a very small area of slight roughness on the lower interior.  It barely registered on the interior detail image as some small sparkles(bottom photo), but it is there.  It is not jagged or pronounced.   It should not be a consideration in evaluation of the overall beauty of the piece -- which is exceptional both in Nowak's choice of elements and particularly voluptuous shaping.   However, this tiny blemish  does keep the piece from being fully "first quality" (and a $5K price tag).  Does not affect structural integrity of the piece at all.   Both the exterior and the shaping of this piece are particularly fine, with different but complementary personalities on either side of the piece. One side in cool blues and greens with a radial orb of gold adding warmth and counterpoint.  The other side is warm reds and violets, with a deep burgundy flattened orb that sets off a profusion of Murini and twisted canes.  Depending on how it is displayed, the look and mood of the piece will vary greatly...   The shaping has a wonderful natural billowing quality, it is very spontaneous and not at all stiff or static, it has the inherent  motion that is the hallmark of Nowak's best work.   Despite the flaw, I would venture to say overall this is a gorgeous example of one of Nowak's most iconic forms, and we are offering it at a very favorable fixed price.    Keep in mind because this is a second, it will not have Nowak's name signature evident, but the piece IS signed directly by Nowak as follows: "Sea Fan, 07"   PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE EBAY "ME" PAGE (link above) BEFORE YOU BID. All of our Sales Policies are listed there. There is also a link to further information about the Artist. Our Art Glass Auction items are  unusual and experimental works either in style or coloration, usually have some other little quirk or minor flaw which keeps them from being perfect in the eye of the artist, and our auction minimum bids are able to reflect that. Any specific flaws, problems, or designation as 'seconds' are ALWAYS noted in the item description.  We are a small scale online operation with a small profit margin, and not a full service retail gallery,  we strive to ensure  all of our customers are satisfied. Some Additional Information about the artist: For a description of the artist at work, please see the link from our Ebay "ME" page.Mr. Nowak has both studied and taught in connection with some of the most respected and exciting names in the art glass world including Pilchuck, Chihuly, Maroni/Corning, and Pratt to name a few.Works by Mr. Nowak are included in significant private collections, corporate collections, and public institutions. By bidding on this auction, you confirm that you have read and consent to our Sales Policies, as listed in the Ebay "ME" page, link at top of this listing.   Shipping Fees quoted are for the Continental US Only.  Depending on size, we may be able to ship to Alaska, or Overseas to International buyers -- Please Inquire BEFORE bidding.
