I have seen 1/2 gal and 1 gal an bigger but never this unusual size. This piece is in good condition with the exception of a couple of apologies. On the belly of the jug there is a glaze flake and the handle does look like it has been replaced. It looks like a crack but I believe it is a repair. Other than those minor details this piece is in excellent condition. As you Craven collectors know this piece dates back to the 1800's. The salt glaze is in excellent condition and there seems to be some blue quartz showing through the pottery. i found this beautiful piece in Randolph County, North Carolina while visiting with friends.
