Illinois Wesleyan University Small Plate Shenango China Pay me securely with any major credit card through PayPal! Description This is a nice, vintage Illinois Wesleyan University bread and butter plate. It is Shenango China restaurant ware marked with the school logo in upper left quarter and a border line in green. The school logo is scalloped or multi-lobed: ILLINOIS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY 1850 encircles an open book overprinted with SCIENTIA ET SAPIENTIA. Illinois Wesleyan University is located in Bloomington Illinois. Shenango China Company started in 1902 and was in production until 1961. There were several name changes during a period of financial difficulty. In 1979 the company was bought by Anchor Hocking. The small bread and butter plate measures 6.375" diameter. The bottom of the plate is stamp marked with Shenango's Indian Potter logo, Shenango / CHINA / NEW CASTLE, PA, USA / RIMROC WELROC / (R) G-14. This small plate is in excellent used condition.
