Description This is a nice, vintage Illinois Wesleyan University mini creamer. It is Shenango China restaurant ware marked with the school logo and a border line in green. The school logo is scalloped or multi-lobed: ILLINOIS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY 1850 encircles an open book overprinted with SCIENTIA ET SAPIENTIA. Illinois Wesleyan University is located in Bloomington Illinois. Shenango China Company started in 1902 and was in production until 1961; then there were several years of financial difficulty and name changes. In 1979 the company was bought by Anchor Hocking. This mini creamer measures 3" tall. The bottom outside diameter is 2.25" and the top is 1.75"; the top opening is 1.50" across and 2.125" to the spout. The bottom of the creamer is stamp marked IVORY over the Shenango Indian Potter logo, SHENANGO CHINA / NEW CASTLE, PA / U.S.A. This mini creamer is in excellent condition.
