Start Price USD 49.99 Current Price USD 52.00 Time Left - Bid Count 4 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Tuesday, November 18, 2008 End Time Tuesday, November 25, 2008 Location Auburn CA See more about 'HULL ART POTTERY U.S.A.W-9-81/2 WILDFLOWER VASE 1946-47' Description HULL ART POTTERY U.S.A.W-9-81/2 WILDFLOWER VASE This is an exquisite example of the art work manufactured by the Hull Pottery Co. of Crooksville, Ohio in 1946-47.   In the Hull Collector’s Encyclopedia of Hull Pottery (Brenda Roberts – pg 84) there is a black and white image and an original description of this style of vase: “A favorite setting for your favorite flowers is Wildflower, the new art pottery by Hull.  You’ll like the natural-colored floral motif of Trillium, Mission and Bluebell---Embossed in tasteful trinity on a body hand-tinted in two tone pastels…” This beautiful Wildflower 2-handled vase is in excellent condition and has no cracks, chips, or crazing. The only very minor factory imperfections I can see are: A small flake of clay left inside the bottom of the base at the time of firing and, a very small area at the bottom rim where the artist’s airbrush touch was just a little lighter.  These types of factory imperfections do not detract from the beauty of the piece and in fact, serves to add to its uniqueness and character.  The vase is marked on the bottom HULL ART U.S.A.-W-9-81/2" it stands 9" high.  The artist initial “Z” is also scratched on the bottom.
