Description
HUGE BIG Georgian Masonic Liverpool Creamware Jug c1790 DescriptionFirstly ...a quick word about folks that seem to think I am waiting around on the edge of my seat just for them to put a BEST OFFER in on BUY IT NOW SHOP ITEMS....especially annoying on the very last day its listed... WHY wait till the last day... you know you can OFFER at anytime during the 30 - 90 day period... you DONT have to wait till the very last minute to offer .... ... so a word to those of you that offer on shop listed items... just put your offers in when you see the item ..dont leave it till the last second to offer as we dont have time to respond. ....Thankyou.  This is a really fantastic massive documentary Liverpool Creamware Jug from around c1790 , of bombe cylindrical form with a plain loop handle . Printed in black transfer and hand coloured in pale brown, yellow, green and blue ... with Tom Truelove  Going to Sea ...and Jack Spritsail Coming on Shore ...after MOLLART . With a ship in full sail beneath 2 roundels which have Masonic devices in both ..after F. MORRIS - SHELTON ...with the WATERMAN vignette beneath the handle. The border has a blue swagged look within an ochre rim . This type of jug is often seen ..ive sold 3 this year but the size of them compared to this one is no where near.. they were 6 and 8 inch tall. this one is 13 inch tall to the rim and another half inh taller to the top of the pouring lip. the main body is 9.5inch wide and between the pouring lip and handle its 14inch . It does have a crack running from the base up towards the handle bottom..then it curves into the main body just under the small rowing boat and towards Jacks leg where it stops. ...near the rowing boat on the cream it has a small chip out.. its 15mm x 10mm . on the pouring lip its had a chip and glued back on in antiquity , a couple of small hairlines too but this is MINOR detail for a jug as early as this one. in fact there are restorers now that could repair this and you would never know. Im sure all the other jugs of this era and size will be long since gone ...cracked and broken thrown into a pit or tip somewhere never to be seen again. You very rarely see jugs of this sheer size in museums too ...hopefully this jug will end up in a private collection or museum alike to be gazed upon by onlookers for many years to come.         If you want to collect it .. then its CASH ON COLLECTION only... I will take paypal from Confirmed accounts only...or IBAN - BACS bank transfer from any country , as well as cheque in Pounds Sterling ONLY .The jug will not be sent until funds have cleared . If a scale is shown it is in CENTIMETRES ... 2.5cm = 1 inchPlease just click on a picture of the item and a new window opens up where the photographs are all enlarged ..scroll through each one to make sure you have seen the beauty of the item. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Click here  GEORGIAN HOUSE COLLECTABLESto see my EBAY SHOP items which are BUY IT NOW or Best Offers..these items dont show up on normal Ebay searches.  <<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>> For my full Terms & Conditions please  View My About Me page   Please note the items I sell are antique or vintage and as such have been around for many years, they will show signs of use and whilst I will describe condition to the best of my ability, everyone has a different idea of condition.  Please study my photo's  and ask any questions before bidding.Payment by PAYPAL ~ DIRECT BANK TRANSFER or STERLING CHEQUE only Please ASK questions before bidding  I SELL   WIDE                      diggerlee Store
