See Terms of Sale for details. Thoughts from the artist. . .      All of my works are handmade from wet clay, one piece at a time, decorated by hand and fired in my studio. I use a lot of sculptural methods for building and manipulating the clay as well as wheel throwing. I prefer to combine the methods to challenge the traditional pottery form. I hand mix a stain to apply as an antiquing agent. I use wet slip to create surface texture, rather than to paint with, then I apply underglaze over the slip. For a final effect I apply matte glaze and gloss glaze to each piece's surface for contrast in texture and to visually soften the piece.      My work contains many formal, traditional elements found in most clay work, yet each form is unique and contemporary in its personality.
