Description
"New Hall Porcelain" By George E. Stringer. Published in London by Salisbury Square: 1949. The New Hall factory was founded in 1781 by a joint-stock company of five Staffordshire potters who had acquired the Bristol patent for hard-paste, the first instance of a joint-stock company in Staffordshire. The factory produced fine ware until 1830. The fine text covers the history of the company as well as the background of potting in England in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. it also illustrates and comments on a number of New Hall patterns of the period.Hardcover. 7.5"x10", 136 pages, 1 color and 38 black & white plates, dust jacket. The jacket is chipped and soiled (see photo), but the book itself in in good, clean condition. - QUESTIONS about this item?
