This piece I have done of this pirate-style ship was all hand cut on tools that have been passed down from my great-grandfather, to my grandfather, to my father and to me. I have been engraving glass for over 40 years. This was all done out of my imagination and it took me one month to create the large ship piece. The small piece took me a week. The drift-wood frame I hand built for the glass to be set in is just another hobby and is included. The entire piece is 28 1/2", the large glass piece is 12x12", and the small ship piece is 4" in circumference. All of the details like the ropes, the men, the waves, the dolphins, and the trees are all in tiny tiny details that I have to spend a long while mastering. I also etch on both sides of the glass to give it a 3-D look and feel. I wanted this piece to be very special to me so I put all of my heart and talent into creating a wonderful form of art that doesn't really exist anymore. Please, if you have questions, write to me. I have never done more than one type of engraving for any my customers, even when I had my own studio. I can engrave anything your heart desires onto any type of glass. Even champagne glasses with your names on them for your wedding or anniversary, for example. I can put your favorite picture of your limited edition car on a one-of-a-kind piece of glass you hand pick. I have engraved family portrait pictures onto glass and handmade framing with a black velvet background and lighting that was stunning to the eye. I have even done pieces for Ronald Reagan and Rush Limbaugh as well as established doctors for the Mayo Clinic and the Mayo Clinic itself. I have a piece I am working on for Oprah of her school in Africa. And so you see, as this piece can show you, I am a guy who is probably one-in-five people left in the world who do what I can do at my level. You may find others who engrave simple designs or letters but what I can do is the Mona Lisa of glass engraving. Not to brag but I probably am the best alive today. These pictures can NOT do me justice but I assure you this is a piece will blow you away and it will be in your family for generations on top of being very valuable and cherished.
