Description
This auction offers a rare chance to add four Wild Rose brown transferware bowls to your collection of Staffordshire pottery.  The Wild Rose pattern was used by many potters.  These pieces are unmarked.  Est. 1830-1870. Measuring 8" wide. The scene in the middle is of Nuneham Courtney, a famous 18th century garden.  The Wild Rose pattern comes from the floral border.  The bowls are in very good condition for their age with no significant damage.  There is extra paint found in some areas and rubbed or skipped paint in other areas. I realize that I had some glare with my pictures so I will add a few more pics so that you can examine them carefully.  There is a 1/8th inch chip on the back on one bowl and a stress line/crack on the another.  Two of the bowls are discolored and appear darker than the others. Please email me with any questions before the auction ends.  Due to the age of the bowls, they are being sold as is.  On Nov-17-08 at 11:03:48 PST, seller added the following information:November 17th - I've added two more photos, one a closeup of the pattern and a second one with hopefully a bit less glare.
