Description
~ 2006 Connoisseur Collection ~   Fenton Art Glass "Nautilus" Burmese Vase #5062-BT   This outstanding Burmese vase was introduced in Spring 2006 as part of the highly respected Connoisseur Collection & was retired by that summer.   This vase was made as a tribute to Frank Fenton, who passed away in late 2005. The bottom features a backstamp for this Frank Fenton Memorial item.     This is the only vase that Fenton had made using this mould.  The mould originated with Cambridge Glass in the 1920s, & later was sold to Imperial Glass.   When Imperial closed in the early 1980s, Mr. Fenton purchased this mould along with others, for future use. This mould had not been used before, so it is a fitting tribute to Mr. Fenton.   The vases made by the other companies with this mould had the top cut flat across, but Fenton has cut the top at an angle to give a more shell-like appearance.   Size:  7.5" high Burmese is a heat sensitive glass, containing real gold, and careful reheating coaxes the delicate pink shading into being.  The creamy yellow color comes from a small amount of depleted uranium in the glass batch.     The vase is designed by Fenton Designer, Stacy Williams.   This gorgeous Vase is hand painted by M. Cronin.   The vase is a limited edition and is hand-numbered - this one is #123 out of 1950 produced.   This is the vase you will receive if purchased thru this auction.   The hand painting is excellent!  The painting is different on the front and back.  This is a very outstanding vase.   The silver Fenton sticker is attached to the side. It has never been displayed, and will come in the original Fenton Glass box.   As a Fenton Glass Gold Showcase Dealer, we guarantee this Vase to be in perfect condition - no chips or cracks - first quality glass - from store inventory.     Don't miss this opportunity to add a very unique piece of Fenton Glass to your collection!       SHIPPING INFORMATION Buyer agrees to pay actual UPS shipping charges to be determined by your zip code.Insurance is included in UPS shipping rates.
