Native to the Carolinas, the "Face Jug" is the most unique piece of southern pottery. The history of Southern Face Jugs starts with slave potters in the Edgefield region of SC before the Civil War. Face jugs have been made in NC since the early 1800s. This special face jug comes complete with a cork stopper. It is 10.5 inches tall to the top of the cork and is 7  inches wide from its long ear to long ear. I have been a potter for more than 45 years. My wife swears that I make 0.50 cents an hour considering the time I spend in my shop. Don’t tell her but my shop is just a place to hide from her.
