Vase stands 9 3/8" tall. The belly is about 5 5/8" wide. The base is 3 9/16" wide and the rim is 4 1/4" wide. Beautiful rich earthly brown glaze. Signed "Powning 1977" with his Markhamville chop mark from that era in his studio in Markhamville, New Brunswick. This is one hot vase. Some small sized glaze pops or fisheye glaze imperfections. No cracks or crazing. I've contacted and sent photo's of the Vase to Peter Powning. This was made the year he returned from Croydon College of Art and Design in London, England. Fired to about cone 11  in a large gas fired kiln using Plainsmans Clays from Alberta. The "MP" chop mark is rarer due to his not using that chop mark for long.
