Frankoma made mugs for each of the two primary national parties for several different election years. The Republican mugs were first initiated in 1969 and the Democratic mugs in 1975. This particular mug features the Republican candidates Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew. The year was 1973, representing the year Nixon was sworn into office for his first term. This mug is in excellent condition with no damage. There are no chips, cracks or nicks. There is no crazing and there is no wear. It looks as if it were new. There are no signs of use.The bottom of the mug is marked: FRANKOMA U.S. PAT. D215-868. It is marked GOP on one side and 1973 Nixon Agnew on the other.
