Description
1985 FENTON 's GARDEN OF EDEN 8" GLASS CARNIVAL PLATE An Outstanding true to Fentons Art form and design, in excellent to near mint condition, 8" cobalt blue in color, GARDEN OF EDEN Carnival Glass Plate. This is one of the most sought after and rarest of the Carnival Glass Fenton plates ever made which features Adam & Eve amoungst "God's" creatures. There is alot of superb detailing to this plate as you see Eve reaching for the apple on the forbidden tree with the coil of the snake and pointed fangs ready to strike. As you look at the stunning detail of this plate you will see many other animals including a deer, zebra, elephant ,crane and more all playing a role in this story telling plate. The outer edge of this plate is covered with apples, vines and foilage with "God" showing the most detail at the top of the plate, arms extending and reaching towards the pair. Fantastic, clear and sharp mold strike with no loss to the brilliant hues of greens, blues, purple luster from the evenly sprayed iridescence on the interior of this plate. The exterior is smooth and free of design on a collar base of 5 1/2" in diameter and displays the Fenton logo. Pre-ship weight is 1 lb 5.3 ozs. This plate is absolutely free of bubbles, scratches, cracks, chips or loss of spray. There is no rubbing, loss of iridescence making this a extremely fine example of one of Fentons Finest! There are some very tiny firing marks on the back of the outer rim of the plate, normal for this type of glass production. Having said that, Fenton realized during the production of this pattern with the large amount of detailing to the mold, they stopped production shortly after as many had flaws like fold lines, strawmarks, missing iridescence, missing mold impressions, bubbles and alike were destroyed. This beauty survived and I can see why! This Biblical Representation of Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden Plate displays a lasting impression of the superb talents & design of American Carnival Art Glass. In my opinion, this plate is absolutely perfect! Please refer to the pictures as part of the description. I have taken mutiple pictures and can provide more if needed on a varity of backgrounds. Unlike most of the Carnival Glass, this one was especially hard to capture the truest essence of the iridescence for all the multiple detailing that this plate offers. PERFECT FOR THE FENTON COLLECTOR OF FINE CARNIVAL GLASS. A TRUE SHOWCASE PLATE! My price is no way a reflection of the true realized value Please Do ask questions prior to purchase. I invite and welcome any feedback.
