Description
wyokay Store FAVRILE CENTERPIECE - GOLDEN IRIDESCENT BOWL AND FROG A CENTERPIECE TO WOW! ALL LOOKERSFAVRILE CONSOLE BOWL AND FROG c1900by L.C. TIFFANYIRIDESCENT GOLD WITH HINTS OF BLUEI'm offering for your bidding consideration a simply wonderful Favrile centerpiece bowl together with it's matching flower frog. This is a consignment sale from the estate of an extremely "well off" Eastern Oklahoma Oil Tycoon. I've been told that the pieces were purchased as a set and that the bowl and frog were most likely produced somewhere in the 1890 - 1910 time frame.MAKER'S MARKS - see photos -The bottom outside rim of the console bowl is appropriately etched in script "L. C. T. Favrile". On the center of the bowl's bottom is the number "11535".The bottom of the flower frog contains markings that make it extremely rare: "#2" is etched in a small glass area free of the blue iridescence. The bottom also has etched in hand script "L. C. Tiffany - Favrile". The etching of "Inc" is very uniquely placed, almost as though it was an afterthought. This is MOST UNUSUAL.SIZEThis is the largest console bowl that I've ever seen on ebay. Since all were handmade, differences were expected. The bowl has a 9.5 inch diameter, a circumference of 32 inches and a height of 3.75 inches. The frog stands 3.75 inches in height, a circumference of 15 inches a diameter of 4.25 inches at it's base.CONDITIONThere are no chips, cracks or signs of any type of repair on either piece. As may be seen in the photo of the frog's underside, a small deposit of an unknown material became part of the glass sometime during the glass blowing process.Picture this wonderful console as the floral centerpiece in your home ... You can't help but smile. Use the buy-it-now feature and that smile can be shared with your Special Someone on Christmas morning. I wish to extend my wishes for a joyous season for you and your family. Payment is expected within 7 (seven) days of auction close for standard auction items. Buy it now auctions require immediate payment. I report non paying bidders. Paypal, personal checks and money orders are the only accepted forms of payment. Personal checks require ten (10) business for clearing my bank prior to shipment. Returned checks require buyer payment of an additional $25.00 bank service charge. Bad check writers will be required to pay the original auction, shipping and handling PLUS the $25.00 bank service charge either through Paypal or by money order. Noncompliance will result in negative feedback.Purchaser is responsible for all shipping, handling and insurance (if applicable). All auction items are carefully packaged with bubble wrap and peanuts, as necessary. Shipping will normally be made within three (3) business days of verified receipt of funds. Personal checks require a minimum of ten (10) business days for clearing. Shipment will be made to VERIFIED ADDRESSES, only. Unless otherwise requested by purchaser, I will attempt to secure the lowest cost reliable shipper.INSURANCEFor purchases in excess of $50.00, insurance is required. The cost of the insurance will be based solely upon the auction price. It is the purchaser's option to request and purchase insurance for lower dollar amount transactions. Auction items are sold "AS IS". Returns are allowed only in the case of a material misrepresentation about the auction item. The item description and photos present sufficient information to allow the buyer to make an informed decision concerning his or her purchase. A refund of the auction price will occur only if I am notified of the qualifying problem within three (3) days of purchaser receipt of the auction item. Should this occur, purchaser is required to return the auction item in the same condition as when I shipped it. I am, by profession, a certified public accountant. Yes, I know ... boring. I receive a great deal of personal satisfaction in taking vintage objects for either restoration to original condition or refurbishment to differing new condition. I have been doing this for a number of years and, as an accountant, wish now to make my endeavors revenue supported. The unfortunate result (for me) is the required sales of completed projects. I hope that you enjoy your bidding experience and will consider adding me to your favorite sellers list. Future sales will include vintage working telephones, old post boxes, and a wide assortment of interesting items. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or reasonable requests. Since I work for a living, contacting me will be facilitated by using my email address: pbacpa@swbell.net.
