The lid screws onto the body and you cook the egg that you've just placed inside by placing it in hot water. It is 2 ½" excluding the little lid handle and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.   Almost all the items we sell are antique, vintage, used or one of a kind and very often they belong to a third party. We promise to do our best to honestly describe the item(s) and provide good pictures.
