Only used for special occasions, it remains in mint, or near mint condition. absolutely no nicks,chips, cracks or scratches.While trying to find a category to list it in, I got confused between, patterned glass, Pyrex(the obvious)or depression glassware. A very beautiful cross collectible!The photos are very good, but, to see this dish in person is a whole other chapter.... The numbers on the lid, read "A-F 696-c" on one side and "Pyrex" on the other. The bowl rests comfortly in it's silverplate holder, with bakelite(?) handles. the holder part is in excellent condition, as is the bottom of the casserole, which is marked "Pyrex" in a circle, on the bottom. Also inside the circle is "TM Reg. Us Patent Off." Other numbers outside the circle read: "095-696-3" and also on the bottom are the letters"BC". I have absolutely no idea what all that means, but this piece is a beauty! I couldn't tell you the name of the pattern, but it flows with leaves, vines and a criss cross basket type pattern.  It has a very Maxfield Parish feel. A very beautiful piece for display, or use:-)!
