Description
For sale today is a great piece of American Studio Pottery by Byron Temple (1933-2002). He is considered a master potter and is associated with Kenneth Quick, Bernard Leach and Colin Pearson.Talking about his work he described it as "a combination of the Bauhaus and Japan". His work reflects a deep interest in functional pottery and this can be seen in the piece being offered. The pitcher has a speckled gray and mustard glaze and is impressed with his mark. The height is 7 1/4" and the width from handle to spout is 6 1/2". Condition is excellent with no problems and wear from age on the base. The handle is particularly nice and the entire piece shows the sure and competent hand of a master potter. If you would like to know more about Byron Temple google him for an entire biography. I am selling several choice pieces from my collection, be sure to see my other auctions. Shipping and handling in USA is FREE through USPS with insurance and conformation delivery. International buyers pay REAL SHIPPING plus a $3.00 handling fee. Feel free to get a complete shipping quote before the end of auction. Any questions will be promptly answered. Happy Ebaying!
