Our Skype name is - orvillefour.   Ref:  57537 This interesting figural stein was made by one of the famous Delft pottery manufacturers, from Holland. The stein was made in the 19th Century. It is formed as a rotund bearded gentleman with the hinged lid formed from his hat. The stein is decorated with elaborate floral motifs and pattening with a cameo painting of a seascape contained within a fleur de lys shaped crest to the front. It is hand painted and is finished in a traditional Delft tin glaze. Marks & Backstamps The stein is marked to the base with the hand painted lettering 'C S' 500, please refer to the photograph below. Condition & Size The stein has a crack to the handle to the hinged lid, there are some restored patches to the surface, and there is some age wear, including minor glaze rubbing, nibbling and crazing here and there. Generally it is in very good condition, with no other major chips, cracks or restoration.
