Description
Dugan Victorian Art Nouveau Opalescent Mary Ann Vase Description You are bidding on this magnificent white opalescent vase know to glass collectors as “Mary Ann”. It came from the Dugan Company and received its name from Fanny Mary Ann Dugan, sister of Thomas E.A. and Alfred Dugan.   This is sort of their "signature" pattern if you will, depicting a lovely flower with hear shaped petals and intricate vine work. Piece has two very detailed handles and a scalloped edge and base. This piece shows up a lot in carnival glass and has many colors and variations, but in opalescent glass is only comes in two colors - blue and white, and both are considered extremely rare; dating from the 1880’s.   It is called the "loving cup" vase and measures 6.5" tall and 3" wide at the widest part.  Tapers gracefully to a point attached to the scalloped base.  Book value is $250.00   There are a couple flaws/bubbles in the glass, which is fairly common seeing as these were made by pressing glass into a mold.  There is absolutely no cosmetic damage to the piece meaning no chips, cracks, hairlines. There is some discoloration on the interior from usage.    This is a rare treat and an amazing find, perfect for display   Please check out my other listings as well as my store!   Most items we sell are antique or vintage. Unless otherwise stated, all items have been used.  They will have normal/typical wear commensurate with age. About Us All our items are either antique or vintage and we strive to bring you superb one of a kind items. eBay recently made some changes to the feedback system which has not been explained well. Buyers can now rate sellers in four categories on a scale of 1 to 5. The description of this ranking would let you believe that a rating of 4 is acceptable or good. What eBay does not tell you is that a seller with an average of less than 4.6 is penalized by loss of discounts and item visibility. If for any reason you do not feel that you have received 5-star service from me, please email me and let me know where I fell short so I can improve my service in the future. Beginning in October any seller who averages below 4.3 stars in any category will be prohibited from selling on eBay. Only a 5 star rating or "very good", "very satisfied" etc. will not subject a seller to eBay sanctions. Contact Us Feel free to email us through eBay's message system. We will gladly assist you. Emails sent to us are generally answered by the next business day. Sometimes emails don't get through because of spam filters or other reasons.
