Description
This is a very beautiful handcrafted , Casas Grandes Paquime pot. Native American design pot from Casas Grandes Mexico. Pot is 11" high and 30" around. Opening at top is 5" in diameter, Beautiful adobe red with dark gray (black) Native American designs . Top has a beige design. This is a very high quality pot. Signed by artist Amana Yora - Mexico Casas Grandes Pottery was first produced 1000 years ago in an area in Northern Mexico called Paquime. Although the first pots were crude utilitarion vessels, their style and shape transformed with trade with the Hohakam and Anazazi. Designs were ins pired by the environment including bird and leaf patterns stylized by each artist. Paquime pottery has some likeness to that of the Northern Pueblos but with thinner walls.
