Description
This 5-piece set of art glassware are masterpieces by the renowned Murano glass-blowers, Gino Cenedese e Figlio. The set comes from a private collection and other sets from the collection are listed separately. Each elegant piece is entirely hand-crafted through a combination of techniques, including gold leaf appliqué and etching, enamel appliqué, and exquisitely fine glass-blowing. The emerald green cristallo glass is magnificently rich and deep. The elaborate scrollwork is hand-etched gold leaf, and each of the rose-and-leaf garlands is enameled in shades of green, red and white. The set consists of the following 5 pieces (measurements approximate): 1 Dinner Plate: 10” 1 Plate: 8” 1 Bowl: 4-1/4” top diameter x 2-1/2” high 1 Demitasse Saucer: 5-3/4” ** 1 Demitasse/Cup: 2-1/2” top diameter x 3-1/4” high ____________ ** Please note that the blown glass of the Demitasse/Cup is clear glass (not blue). When the set was ordered in 1987 Cenedese explained that it was necessary to make their delicate Demitasses in clear glass due to the interaction between hot liquid and the blown glass. Also note that the demitasse cup has the added feature of gold-rimming. Condition: All 5 pieces are in mint condition. There are no no chips, no cracks, no scratches, no touch-ups and there have been no repairs. The gold leaf and enamel are near pristine. Authenticity: For authentication, a copy of the original sales receipt from Gino Cenedese e Figlio-Murano (which includes this set among others) will be provided to the buyer (please understand that some personal information will be deleted, however, the original receipt is available for viewing upon request).
