Filmont GLASS EYES' Description   Fabulous art pottery figure of an insect, beetle or scarab with a beautiful glaze over terracotta. Superb modelling on this naturalistic bug with yellow glass eyes. The heavy majolica type glaze has covered most of the base but there remains the word “ Caen “ and part of “ France “. I believe this piece was made by J. Filmont between the wars (circa 1930). His firm is known to have made fabulous figural lawn ornaments and other quality figures which are very hard to find in good condition and extremely collectible. SIZE: 4.5" (11.5cm) long x 2" (5cm) tall approx. MARKS: Impressed in script “ Caen” and part of “France” CONDITION: Very Good Condition. There is a tiny glaze flake on the bottom part of one back leg (see photo). No other problems. SHIPPING: Airmail shipping within North America will cost US$14.00.
