The vase was decorated in 1922 by famed Rookwood artist, Fredrick Rothenbusch. Mr. Rothenbusch decorated the vase with beautiful nasturtiums. The vase is just under 10 inches tall (9 3/4 inches to be more exact) and 4 inches wide at the shoulders. Marks on the vase's bottoms are: Rookwood's flame mark, 'XXII' (fabrication year: 1922), '2547' (shape number), 'V' (for Vellum glaze), 'P' (for soft porcelain - refer to page 136 of Herbert Peck's book), Fred Rothenbusch's cipher, and a ground 'X' (I am not sure why the vase has been 'X'd, maybe it is because of a couple of minute glaze bubbles). Amazingly, the vase is un-crazed - so, water must never have been put in the vase. The vase is in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or repairs (the white spots you see in the pictures are from the camera's flash). This is a NO RESERVE auction. Thanks for looking. Place a Bid!
